Hi I'm Noah
In my school I'm currently a junior whom is taking an engineering class called Principles of Engineering (P.O.E.). This website will be a collection of all my projects I take on through out my Engineering course. These projects are challenging, but also really fun, and I hope you enjoy looking through my all engineering work so far.
Efficiency Calculations:
Weight bridge held: 102 lbs
Weight of bridge: 27 g or 0.081571 lbs
Efficiency Ratio: 102/0.081571 =
1250.44
Overall I think I did pretty good on the project, and am proud of it. I think this was because I had a lot of designs that I tested in a truss calculator and found that the best one was the simplest. This allowed me to keep a low weight of the bridge too, as I also tried to stay close to the minimum length and height restriction. Although it broke where I predicted, it probably could have held a little more force if I glued it better/more as the glue 'bonds' itself broke rather than the wood.
